Dinner at Afridi Inn

Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 8:13 pm

Last Saturday my ex-colleague invited other colleagues for dinner at Afridi Inn (map here). It was quite refreshing since I went out with friends after 2 and half months due to schedule and job. It was more wonferful because I was meeting my ex-colleagues after 2 months.

I reached to old office around 8:30 PM. We all guys left from there and reach to  venue around 9.00 PM. Afridi Inn is one of those restaurants who provides best desi food in traditional style(Choki) rather dinning tables. I would add further that most of awesome food served in Karachi at Restaurants where there is no  seating arrangements for families or even if there is available then families don’t prefer to go. For instance the palces where you can get good Karahi are: Al-Asif,Hasan Zai at Pahar Ganj North Nazimabad, Lasbela and Mari pur. Apart Hasan zai none of the place provides facility for families. Even families avoid to go Hasan Zai since it’s located in Pathan population so our ladies usually get scared. :-) There are several other places where there is no arrangements for ladies but yet they serve best food. For instance the best pullao you can get at Hanif in Kharadar and best Bun Kebabas at Burns Rd and Super Biryani,Pakisan Chowk.

As you can see, village like arrangement, sitting on choki in relax mode(kuch zyda he relax hogya k dant obal obal kar bahar arahey hain :P )

You can see all three dishes in this picture. We ordered White Karahi which you can’t see anymore :P, Mutton Karhai and Chicken Karahi(sada wali) with Raita and salad.

This is not first time I went over there but I also admit that I have not tried much dishes over there. I specially like White Karahi and Chops.  Food is not much expensive, umm around 400-500/kg I think. After having dinner we went to Baloch icecream where I ordered special Pineapple but to be honest I can’t forget the taste of Mama’s icecream in Islamabad.

That was all about my last Saturday. Over all it was pretty good for me.

Oh I forgot to mention that my chaddi friend Kumar edited this photo and blurred it. :-)
