  1. I liked his poetry. It was simple URDU and he expressed emotions in a way that many people felt them as their own feelings…

    He was one great poet.

Inna Lillahi Wa inna ilaihee rajion.

  2. Salamalaikum

Rest in peace?! SubhanAllah, he was a communist lover and the true inheritor of Faiz Ahmed Faiz. Ask a scholar whether a communist is a Muslim or not. I don’t know his full views, but if he believed in communism (not just a point or two of communism) then he wasn’t a Muslim. And, I don’t have the time or the inclination to find out his exact views. So, the best we can say is: May Allah give him what he deserves.

Please remember the hadith in sahih al-Bukhari: “Everyone will be with those whom he loves.” So, expect a communist-lover with other communists on yawmul qiyamah.

  3. by the way adnan, who do you think you are. You have been eulogistic about yourself so often that i feel you need a doctor. You feel your have an importance in the society. Ahmed Faraz is one of the greatest poet of all time and every one must respect him..

  4. @aghakhani: coz its MY BLOG so naturally I would express MY Views about him. He was not a god hat one can’t deny him. So calm down.!

@Ibrahim: WS! I never read anywhere he did shirk or said he doesnt accept God so for me he’s a Muslim regardless of his distorted views. And i liked his poetry if I ever liked not his personality.

  5. Agakhani,

one of the greatest poet of all time and every one must respect him
wow!!! you sound like an AgaKhani extremist.

    Ibrahim bhi,
Take it easy on br Adnan. I’m sure if he (or I) had known any thing wrong coming out of Faraz, he wouldn’t have expressed INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAIHEE RAJION.

    Adnan,
Keep it up. I see how *enlightened* people (agakhani and others) hate your blog.
As far as Faraz is concerned, it would be nice if we could read his poetry to learn how to write poetry. Peotry is a good way to express yourself.

  6. if it is your blog, then don’t allow comments from any one and keep eulogizing your self. Its always good to live in fools paradise.

  7. i hate you and i started hating after you said this is your blog.

  8. Salamalaikum

Brother Adnan, I wasn’t talking about your liking his poetry. I do like some (very little) of his poetry. There is nothing wrong in writing poems/ghazals if nothing anti-Islam is written in them.

Also, what I wrote about Faraz above is not a political slogan/statement or an emotional outburst just because he is liked by the left.

The reason I wrote my above comments had more to do with the principles (creed/aqida) of Islam and in what light should we mention and look at people, especially famous people like Faraz.

It’s not a hidden fact that he was a commnunist, communist lover, secular, drinker, etc, etc. You can correct me if I have made a mistake in characterizing him. Once this is known (about his communist leanings), then it’s incumbent upon us to not make generalized statement on him without mentioning caution. To say “Rest in peace” is to ask Allah for forgiveness for him. That’s ok…we can do that but not without mentioning that we only ask for his forgiveness if he died as a Muslim (because of his known communist attachment).

This is so that the audience understands that the one who believes in communism is not a Muslim, even if he says La Illaha Illah Muhammadar Rasoolullah thousand times a day. The ideology of communism, such like secularism, is against the spirit of Islam. I’m sure you know that there is no concept of God in communism, for example. Hence, a person who was known to be a communist, his forgiveness must not be asked for until at least we make a disclaimer that we only ask for his forgiveness if he died as a Muslim.

That’s why I said that the most that can be said is that may Allah give him what he deserves….meaning, if somehow he disassociated himself from communism (which is not known and Muslims can only go by the zaahir (apparent) facts), then Allah will give him accordingly what he deserves, and if he died on the communist tip, then Allah will give him deservingly.

Again, please note this is not an emotionally charged political stance. I’m trying to make an academic point on usool of this religion. Maybe I’m doing a poor job. May Allah help us all. Allahu A’lam

Agakhani, first, what’s your age? I don’t think people have found brother Adnan to eulogize himself. You suffer from delusions.

  9. Dude Adnan,

You have really pissed agakhani. I bet his employment benefits don’t include health coverage (specially mental health).

  10. no allwances for mental health. he must be fired from teh company immediately.. LoL

  11. One can’t wish one peace after death if one is not a muslim???

become human first, then try to be muslim!
